Newcastle 2 City 3

 City are probably the only team in the premier league that I feel is better than us in every position. Like, you just go into it feeling the match is entirely hopelesss. But I don't really get why we're the only club that has to follow financial fair play, because teams like Chelsea and City don't. They always splash hundreds of millions out on the next shiny new thing, yet we can't even afford Dominic Solanke. I don't understand that at all. First, Solanke is not even a player we should be interested in, but if we can't even afford him, then there's no hope of bringing in anyone who even remotely approaches world class level. And knowing how short we are of players, nothing's been done to bring anyone in, when they should at least be making loan moves. I mean Chelsea have a whole squad of players they never use and we don't even make an inquiry. 

Instead we're stuck with Almiron charging around with no clue as to how to score or pass a decent ball.

But as far as today's game, that first half I don't understand how they just let Foden play freely between the lines with no pressure and no marking. 

Gordon and Isak's goals were brilliant. I can never quite decide if Gordon is a total wanker or total class. 

Trippier was at fault yet again for the winning goal.

 Look I love Trippier. He's been central to the team's turnaround over the last 2 years, a massive leader.  But he's now become a detriment to the team with his glaring mistakes. You just can't keep putting him out there at this point. There comes a time when everyone loses a step and can't hack it anymore. His time may have come.  Aside from the glaring mistakes is that his set pieces really aren't that great either. The TV announcers always give him the big lead-in on every corner and free kick.  mackems 0  Newcastle 3 A proper 3-0 stomping, with Trippier seemingly back to his normal self and the rest of the team looking like they are close to recovery. The primary issue was the 3 goals were all quite generous, an own goal, a poor giveaway leading to a one pass empty net, and a penalty, ha. We didn't create much, despite dominating them. Against a premier league side, it might have been 0-0. The next match against City, it's a problem of facing the wrong team at the wrong time, we really could have done with anyone else.

Newcastle 1 Forest 3

 12/26/23 This was humiliating. I said before they couldn’t keep putting Trippier out there. If his dip in form & mistakes were due to exhaustion they should have put him on the bench and gave Lewis Hall a try with Livramento on the right. But, I also have to point out that Burn’s absence affected Tripps bc Burn lets them play with a back 3 and Trippier becomes more like a second winger. Without Burn they did not have that natural formation switch and Tripps had to be a normal right back. Teams always think they can get behind Burn but he’s generally part of a back 3 when teams counter attack and Sven always covers him. However, today we were so poor defending their counter attack, it was inexplicable. I can’t believe how bad we are at the moment Miley does have great vision I just wish he was faster, if we could find a player like that with a lot more speed we might be on to something.
